The horizontal stab is intricate culmination of nose ribs, spars, stringers and inboard ribs. The nose ribs require a little trimming to prevent them from making a dent in the leading edge. I actually over trimmed them requiring my first (and probably not my last) order from Van’s for replacement parts.

I had to make cradles to support the structure during assembly. It was a little weird breaking out the woodworking tools.

 I got everything clecoed together and then had to match drill the 1,000 or so holes. All I kept thinking was after this they all need deburring

Once everything starts getting drilled you have to keep track of which ones were drilled. You don’t want to miss any. I had a great helper mark the holes that were already drilled
